Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood, 2002

With a cast like this you would imagine pure excellence.  The acting is great.  The story line is only good.  Overall it was missing that shocking twist.  Perhaps if they had not suggested there was a game changer than I would have a little more respect for this film.

Who is in this?  Ellen Burstyn, Ashley Judd, Maggie Smith, and James Garner.  Oh yeah, and Sandra Bullock.  As always Ashley Judd does an amazing job.  Her character is perfectly played.

Mom and daughter are fighting.  This time over a statement daughter said to a reporter about her messed up childhood.  Mom’s best friends from childhood kidnap daughter to change her mind.  Maybe even change the way she sees herself.

I expected more out of this film.  It was OK.  It truly was better than a lot of movies, but not on pare with what I was expecting based on the cast.

I give this one a 3/5.

Worth watching once, but that is about it.
